UPDATE December 2021:
The UK Renal Registry has been mandated by the Clinical Reference Group (CRG) and NHS England to collect patient identifiers from renal centres in England.
The information will be used for linkage with the COVID-19 database at NHS Digital for regular reporting of COVID-19 infections and vaccinations.
With the support of NHS England, we are now asking all renal centres to submit an extract of patient identifiers for all CKD patients under the care of your renal centre.

Since March 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UKRR has collected data every week from renal centres about the number of patients who test positive for COVID-19. The data are reported on a weekly or fortnightly basis dependent on the number of cases - see COVID-19 reports.
Renal centres in England, Northern Ireland and Wales report their COVID-19 data directly to the UKRR, while Scottish renal centres send their data to the Scottish Renal Registry, which sends aggregate numbers to the UKRR every month.
The data collected are deliberately limited so as not to add significantly to the burden of work in renal centres - see data submission.
At the request of NHS England, since December 2020, the UKRR has also collected data about vaccination of patients at renal centres against COVID-19 - see data submission.
The COVID-19 dataset is linked with Public Health England and NHS Digital (Hospital Episode Statistics and Civil Registration Database).
