Getting involved in quality improvement

Involving people with lived experience of kidney disease is important for the success of the Kidney Quality Improvement Partnership.

Improvement requires the knowledge and insight of those who experience kidney care.

There are many ways you can get involved in our projects and national programme.

Visit the Kidney Patient Involvement Network for:

  • Opportunities currently available to get involved in quality improvement
  • Examples of good practice and case studies
  • Resources, tool-kits, example terms of reference and protocols
  • Support and training for kidney patient and family involvement

Contact [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to speak to someone in our team about getting involved.

What does it feel like to be involved in quality improvement as a patient?

Learning from patients and professionals working together

Watch a webinar where patients and professionals discuss – with honesty – their practical experiences from four leading renal quality improvement programmes.

This webinar was based on the outputs from the Health Foundation funded report Kidney Services: Improving at Scale.

    Patient experience

Patient experience is a key element of care quality and informs much of the improvement work that KQIP supports.

Visit the renal associations UK Renal Registry website to find out about the annual Kidney Patient Reported Experience Measure (PREM), to read previous annual PREM reports and to view annual patient experience data via the PREM portal.

KQIP also capture and highlight personal stories and experiences from people living with kidney disease that you can read here.

Visit The Renal Association patients’ website to find out more about how your data are used, how you can opt-out, useful resources, as well as getting involved in the Renal Association Patient Council.
